Masking Images

Alpha Masking is a convex combination of two colors allowing for transparency effects in computer graphics. The value of alpha in the color code ranges from 0.0 to 1.0, where 0.0 represents a fully transparent color, and 1.0 represents a fully opaque color.

Shadow Images

In graphic design, a drop shadow is an effect where an image is repeated behind itself to create the illusion that the image is floating over its background. A cast shadow is similar to a drop shadow but has the added dimension of perspective. Cast shadows can be rotated, slid, or stretched to create the illusion that the light source is coming from different directions.
